Patti Perkins

Patti Angelina Maria (Mercaldi) Perkins, 96 of Danvers, departed this life on Monday, October 27th. Born on January 7, 1929 in Beverly, she was the daughter to the late Peter and Concetta (DiPierno) Mercaldi and beloved wife to the late Calvin T. Perkins with whom she shared 70 years of marriage together.
Patti was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School. She was a traditional stay at home mom, later obtaining her Real Estate license and then her Cosmetology degree. Eventually she became the proud owner and operator of "Shear Pleasure", a hair salon located in her home in Wenham. She had many passions and joys in life. She was very musically inclined and played piano, as well as sang in the church choir at the Wenham Baptist Church. Patti and Cal were Florida "snow birds" for many years enjoying their retirement by golfing and hanging out at the beach.
Patti had a deep love for her family and was the glue that held it together. She was very talented in the kitchen as well, with her remarkable pies and exceptional sought after Italian sauce. She hosted most holidays and family gatherings at her home with a loving heart and priceless humor. She will be deeply missed.
Patti is survived by her sister; June Pineault of Ipswich; two daughters; Gail Perkins of Georgetown and Lurye Perkins-Calla and her husband David of Gloucester; one son, Jeffrey Perkins and his wife Marcia of NM; five grandchildren, Robert Perkins, Tara McCloskey-Ahr of Marshfield, Robert Webster of Georgetown, Rachelle Russo and her husband Stephen of Gloucester and Erin Valaskatgis of Beverly; four great grandchildren, Jared, Alexander and Amber McCloskey of Fitchburg and Xander Russo of Gloucester; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her grandson, Joseph "Jay" Koloski and her four brothers; Liborio "Libby" Mercaldi, Louis Mercaldi, Paul Mercaldi, and Leonard "Sonny" Mercaldi.
Her funeral service will be at Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Wednesday, November 5th at 1pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be at Wenham Cemetery, Wenham. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com
