Patty Smith Hall,87, a beloved matriarch and cherished member of her community, surrounded by her family on, Sunday, September 7, 2025, entered into the arms of her Lord and Saviour. Born on November 23, 1937, in Tift County, Georgia, Patty was a beacon of love and faith throughout her life.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Mike Hobbs officiating. Interment will follow at Omega City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Mrs. Hall grandsons, Jeremy Hobbs, Matthew Hobbs, Ben Hobbs, Brandon Ellis, J. T. Hall, Daniel Hall and Nick Terrell will serve as pallbearers.

Patty shared a beautiful 54-year marriage with her high school sweetheart, Cecil T. Hall, who preceded her in death on April 28, 2008. Together, they opened the Christian Book Store in Tifton in 1975, a testament to their deep faith and dedication to their community. During the 1970s, Patty and Cecil also touched countless lives by leading Lay Witness Missions and Youth Encounter weekends across Georgia, spreading their message of love and goodwill.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Patty found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. She took pride in keeping up with their lives and showering them with love and prayer. Her strong Christian faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she prayed faithfully for her loved ones every day.

Patty was also known as a talented cook, delighting her family and friends with her culinary creations. Among her specialties was her famous ten-layer chocolate cake, affectionately known as “Patty Cake.” She often quipped, “If you feed them, they will come,” and her home was a warm sanctuary filled with hospitality and laughter.

In addition to her gift for cooking, Patty enjoyed reading, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and engaging in spirited card games with dear friends from her Sunday School class. Many will remember her not only for her culinary talents but also for her unwavering faith and generous spirit.

Beyond her family and community endeavors, Patty dedicated many years of her life to working as a bookkeeper before retiring, showcasing her commitment and diligence in every aspect of her life.

Patty was preceded in death by her father, Harry Van Smith; her mother, Ginny Ruth Smith; and her brother, Van Smith. She leaves behind a loving family that includes her children Jill Ellis (Brad), Greg Hall (Dede), and Gina Hobbs (Mike); her grandchildren Hannah Terrell (Nick), Brandon Ellis (Chelsey), J.T. Hall (Rebekah), Daniel Hall (Chanel), Jeremy Hobbs (Leah), Matthew Hobbs (Shayna), and Ben Hobbs (Elle); along with her great-grandchildren Norah Terrell, Aiden Terrell, Jonah Hall, Margeaux Hall, Rhama Hobbs, Judah Hobbs, Willow Hobbs, Linden Hobbs, Lyric Hobbs, Soren Hobbs, Tabor Hobbs, and Henry Hobbs. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Rubye Meders of Omega. She will be missed by her grand-fur baby, Layla, who adored her grandma and stayed by her side to the very end.

The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Hospice in Athens for their loving care during the past few months.

Patty Smith Hall will be lovingly remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous spirit, and the boundless love she poured into her family and community. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
