Patty Kay (Baker) Long age 78 of Newton Falls passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday night March 11, 2026 at the Hospice House in Poland. She was born on Feb. 20, 1948 in Middlebourne, WV the daughter of the late Earnest Ray Baker and Masil Gwen (Hamilton) Baker. Patty had lived in Newton Falls since 1968 formerly of Middlebourne, WV where she graduated from Tyler Co. High School in the Class of 1966. After high school, she married the love of her life, Larry W. Long on Sept. 30, 1966 and they enjoyed almost 40 years of marriage together until his death on June 28, 2006. Patty was a member of the First Christian Church, and the Red Hat Society for many years. She was a devoted housewife, and loved being a mother & grandmother to her children and grandchildren. Patty loved singing in the choir at church, being in the outdoors, cutting her grass, doing all kinds of yardwork, gardening, going to church, and watching her children's and grandchildren's sporting events in town. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband Larry Long.
Patty is survived by: 1 daughter: Crystal & Ronald Vincent of Champion, OH, 2 sons: Larry Long II of Warren, Kurt & Michelle Long of Southington, 3 brothers: Carl Baker of Grand Junction, CO, Dean Baker of Middlebourne, WV, Phil & Lisa Baker of Sistersville, WV, 4 grandchildren: Samantha, Corey, Justin, Marisa, and 2 great grandchildren: Kylie Rose & Kaylynn Mariah.
Calling hours will be at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Sunday March 15, 2026 from 1:00- 3:00pm. Cremation will follow the service. A Memorial Service for Patty will be at the Furbee-Williams Funeral Home in Middlebourne, WV on Thursday March 19, 2026 at 12:00pm. Calling hours will be from 11:00am - 12:00pm. She will then be laid to rest beside her husband Larry at Beechwood Cemetery in Alma, WV. The family has requested that all donations please be made to the Huntington's Disease Society of America 505 8th Ave. Suite 1402 New York, NY 10018-6588 in her memory.
