Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, Ltd.Patty LaRue (Patrick) Gordon, age 79, of Mechanicsburg died on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Patty was born on Sunday, July 14, 1946, in Harrisburg to the late John Patrick and Kathryn LaRue (Cook) Patrick. In addition to her parents, Patty is preceded in death by five of her siblings: Kathy Howarth, Virgie Patrick, John Patrick, Gary Patrick, and George Patrick.
Patty’s survivors include her three children: Kathryn Gordon and her husband Jon Rohrer of Camp Hill, PA, Iva Erno of Harrisburg, PA, Russell Gordon and his wife Tracy of Lincroft, NJ; her seven grandchildren: Sarah Pillsbury, Victoria Fontenot, Stephanie Haas, Anthony Haas, Samual Beaver, Claire Rohrer, Sagan Rohrer; her seven great grandchildren: Viktor Patterson, Tristan Fontenot, Benjamin Fontenot, Elise Fox, Raelynn Fox, Marlee Rathfon, Kathryn Rathfon; her sister: Sally Ammerman of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Patty graduated from Mechanicsburg Area High School as part of the class of 1965. She proudly served her country as a Sergeant of the United States Air Force. Patty retired from Naval Activity Supply Depot in Mechanicsburg after many years operating as a supply specialist. She was a member of Market Square Presbyterian church in Harrisburg where she served as a Deacon and an Elder, and was actively involved in their outreach programs. She valued education and literacy, advocating for public television and radio programming. She was a frequent patron of the Simpson Library where she belonged to “Tea and Stitches,” connecting with others over their shared passions, and maintaining a social network when her health was failing. Patty liked to stay active, and enjoyed visiting state and national parks. She always made time for family, and doted especially on her grandchildren. Patty will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
All are welcome to join Patty’s family at her Memorial Service on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Market Square Presbyterian Church, 20 South 2nd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101; with Pastor Anne Ross officiating. Patty’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Market Square Presbyterian Church immediately following the service. Interment will take place at the family’s convenience.
