A graveside service will be held at Sumner Cemetery on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 2:00PM. The family would like to invite all those attending the service to attend a dinner following at Faith Bible Fellowship Church in Atchison, KS. She has been cremated under the direct care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home in Atchison, KS. Condolences for the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com
Patty was born on February 23, 1953, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Ralph and Lula Mae (Yazel) Stirton. She married Rodger Vessar on November 5, 1971, and he survives of the home. She enjoyed many hobbies such as cross stitching, sewing, camping, bird watching, cooking, canning food, gardening, playing cards, flowers and mowing her yard. Patty enjoyed spending time with her family, but her grandchildren always had a special place in her heart.
She is also survived by son, Ryan (Trisha) Vessar, daughter, Tiffany (Jason) Nitz, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brothers, Ronald (Debbie) Stirton, Leonard (Patsy) Stirton, Steve (Patricia) Stirton and sister, Virgina "Gin" Birk. She is preceded by her parents, and sister, Chrystle Dwiggins.
