Paul Robert Ally, Jr., age 68, a resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully at Boston VA Healthcare Medical Center, West Roxbury on Friday, June 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lowell on August 20, 1955, and was the son of Joseph Paul R. and Patricia J. (Fournier) Ally.
Paul was raised in Dracut in the home built by the Ally family and as a young man, driven by a strong love of his country, enlisted in the Air Force where he served until his unfortunate motorcycle accident which put him in a wheelchair.
Motivated to not let this change his life, Paul adapted and found a new purpose serving other veterans by working in the computer lab of the Bedford Veterans hospital where alongside two of his closest friends, Jimmy and Barry, he helped better the lives of other vets through computer technology.
Paul spent his remaining years at home in retirement where he enjoyed gardening with his wife and son and relaxing year-round in his greenhouse before sadly losing his battle with bladder cancer.
In addition to his beloved wife, Quan Li, Paul is survived by his son, Asher; his sister, Missy; his four nieces, and three nephews.
Sadly, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Martin and Brian.
A special thank you to all the wonderful nurses and staff at the West Roxbury VA who cared for Paul in his final few days and especially his wife who managed all of his specialized care at home during his treatments.
All are welcome to attend the Committal Service being held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 9am in St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel, 96 Riverneck Road, Chelmsford. Kindly gather at the chapel.
