Paul Elmer "Piebaby" Anthony, age 92, of Arlington, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Paul was born on April 1, 1933, in Collierville to the late George and Eva Hill Anthony. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years and later dedicated his career as a line foreman with Memphis Light, Gas & Water.
On May 2, 1958, Paul married the love of his life, Nellie Simmons, and together they shared 67 wonderful years.
Mr. Anthony was a lifelong resident of Fayette and Shelby county areas. He enjoyed coon hunting, riding his backhoe, and Fox news. He will be remembered for his full of life attitude and the love he shared with all of his family and friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Nellie; one daughter, Paula Stills & Gil of Lowell, Arkansas; one son, Jeffery "Jeff" Anthony & Carlie of Arlington, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Cassie, Michelle, Sofia, and Spencer; and three great-grandchildren, Julia, Marilyn, and Madison.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eva Anthony; two sisters, Mary Dennie and Ruth Tennyson; and four brothers, Charles "Bubba" Anthony, Robert Anthony, Herbert Anthony, and John Elgin "Pumpkin" Anthony.
Funeral services for Mr. Anthony will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Peebles West Funeral Chapel with a visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will by at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hickory Withe, TN,
Memorials in Paul's honor may be made to Kings Daughter Nursing Home.
