Paul J. Banick Sr., of Beacon passed away peacefully Monday, December 16, 2024 at Trustbridge Hospice in Delray Beach, FL. He was 84 years young. Born March 12, 1940 in the Bronx.
Paul met his bride Jean and they married July 11, 1959. Together they raised their family of 3 boys. They loved to travel especially their 50th Anniversary trip to Hawaii and their Alaskan cruise. Their traveling eventually found them retiring in Greenacres, FL. They loved going out with friends, the Casino and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
Paul joined the Teamsters Union local #456 where he was a heavy equipment hauler in NYC and surrounding areas. According to his grandchildren, he was the best at his job because Grandpa drove the BIG truck. Paul was also a lifelong member of Lewis Thompkins Hose fire department, St. Rocco's Society, Elks BPOE #1493, Elks club in Florida, Moose Lodge, Carmen Ramputi Marine Corps Detachment #861 and a PROUD US Marine Corp Veteran.
Paul is survived by his wife of 65+ years, Jenny (Jean) Sutherland Banick of Greenacres FL; his son Howard Anthony of Beacon; his son David and wife Dawn, grandson, Brady and granddaughter, Bailey of Matthews, NC; and granddaughter, Jessica Lynn of Albany, NY.
Paul is predeceased by his parents, his sisters Margaret and Francine and his son Paul Jr.
The family will receive friends on Sunday December 22 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman St., Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, December 23 at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim's Church, 51 Leonard St, Beacon. Interment with Military Honors will follow at St. Joachim's Cemetery, 325 Washington Ave, Beacon.
