Paul E. Barley Sr., 85, of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. He was born on November 19, 1939, in Bellwood, the son of the late Joseph H. and Pricilla M. (Eller) Barley. Paul was twice married, first to Barbara J. Locke on April 30, 1960, she preceded him in death on January 5, 1989. He then married Sharon E. Greiner on November 19, 1990, she preceded him in death on September 6, 2020. Surviving are his five children, Paul Jr. (Sue), Scott (Beth), Lori Bond (Chuck), Jennifer Barley all of Altoona, and Lisa Johnson of Beavertown, PA; 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sister, Linda L. Rhodes of Bellwood; and brother, Charles (Patricia) of Altoona. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Sheets-Welch, Hilda Dougal, Clarabelle D. Huber, Jenny P. Showalter; two brothers, Joseph and Samuel Barley; a grandson, Paul Eugene Barley III; son-in-law, Jeffrey Lynn Johnson; and daughter-in-law, Patty Barley. Paul was an active member of the Altoona First Church of God. He retired from the Bellwood-Antis School District after more than 20 years of service. He enjoyed camping, doing projects on the computer, getting together with his school classmates, helping others, organizing social events for the church, and loved his dogs Sparky Lynn and Prince Charming. Friends and family will be received on Saturday April 19, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 5 p.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Dale DiBernardinis officiant.
