Paul Berneis Obituary

Paul Allen Berneis died Friday, December 5, 2025 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was born in Detroit on June 27, 1948 to Hans and Regina (Fischhoff) Berneis. Paul graduated from Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo and moved to Ann Arbor for university, where he met his wife of 53 years, Susan (Quinn) Berneis. A software engineer by trade, Paul also enjoyed woodworking (and had a workshop that was the envy of many), as well as photography and classical music, and was famous for his chocolate chip cookies. He was the soft-spoken, gentle, quiet center of a family full of outspoken women. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Susie and brother Dr. Kenneth Berneis; he is survived by his daughters Alexandra Berneis (Andrew) Hoag and Victoria (Nathaniel) Madura, two grandchildren, Isaac and Roslyn, nieces, cousins, and a large family of choice. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Parkinson's Foundation www.parkinson.org or the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org. To leave a memory you have of Paul or to sign his online guestbook please visit www.rbfhsaline.com Arrangements entrusted to the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home of Saline.
