Sorry to hear about your loss. May the Good of all comfort be with you at this time of sorrow.

Paul actually did not fly away, he's still playing somewhere, just played a "silence" longer than usual, perfectly in his Bleyan style, surprising us as usual. But we still feel his presence in our minds and I'm sure he'll remain in the deep of our hearts forever.

Paul was the best. He will be deeply missed. Thank you, his family, for your love and kindnesses to him and all of us who were his friends. We share your loss.

I began listening to Paul in 1970 when I graduated from high school and in my first year in the collegiate jazz ensemble at the University of Memphis. Paul's music was a great inspiration to me. His album "Open to Love" is unforgettable.
