Paul Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home on Dec. 29, 2025.
Paul J. Brown, age 74, of Milton passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Born on March 19, 1951, in South Boston.

A devoted husband of fifty years to Barbara J. (Duggan), Paul's partnership with her was a cornerstone of his life. Together, they nurtured a family that included their son, Daniel J. Brown (MPD) and his wife Kate of Milton, and their daughter, Christine M. Allen and her husband Timothy (MFD) of Milton. Paul took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Jack, Charlotte, and Avery Brown, and Grace, James, and Bridget Allen. His siblings, Robert Brown of Mystic, CT, Patricia Lipnicky of N.C., Lawrence Brown of Plymouth, and the late Albert Brown of Middleboro, held a special place in his heart, as he did in theirs.

Raised in Hyde Park, Paul's formative years at Boston Tech High School laid the foundation for the hardworking and dedicated man he became. His career as a lineman at Verizon spanned three decades, a reflection of his steadfast commitment and strong work ethic. Retirement in 2003 marked the end of his professional journey but opened the door to many cherished moments with family and friends.

Paul's love for Cape Cod was evident in his fondness for summering in Falmouth. The beach was his haven, a place where he could soak in the sun and enjoy the company of those closest to him. A passionate fan of Boston sports, Paul could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, the Patriots and the Red Sox, living and breathing every play with the intensity only a true fan could possess.

Paul was an avid walker. He loved being out in nature whether it was walking on paths in Falmouth and Milton admiring homes and gardens along the way or a round of golf with family or friends.

Outgoing and ever the consummate host, Paul's homes in Milton and Falmouth were a hub of hospitality. His competitive nature was all in good fun, as he enjoyed any and all games with friends, and could turn any moment into a spirited competition. Paul's life was one of connection and impact.

His legacy is carried forward not only through his family but also through the countless lives he touched with his generous spirit and heartwarming presence. He will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered.

I worked with Paul in the 1980's side by side for a little over a year. He was one of the funniest people you could ever meet. I was new to the phone company and Paul was like a mentor to me and I will never forget him and the great times we had at work and outside of the office, it was some of the best times I've ever had. My condolences to Paul's family and friends alike he will be sorely missed.
