Paul and I had been friends for over 35 years. That friendship began when Paul started trimming houses for me and grew as we built a house together. Paul was probably the only man I ever met that could build a home from the ground up and never use a sub-contractor. As we worked together over the years I was amazed at his abilities. Some years ago he designed and built a free standing spiral stair case. He cut shaped and assembled every piece, working far into the night for weeks to make it perfect.
We traveled together with our girl friends. He enjoyed snow skiing, snorkeling, diving but his love was sailing in the Caribbean along with an occasional "pain Killer". He lived his life to the limit. It's sad he never got to go on "one last sail trip".
When I think of Paul, I will always remember a gift he gave me that was engraved "may we always be like brothers". To my brother I say hang on and we'll sail one more time in heaven.
