Paul Wilfred Chavez age 77, passed away on November 8, 2025, from unexpected illness, with his loving wife Linda by his side during his hospitalized and death.
Paul was an excellent mechanic by trade, his advice on vehicle maintenance was sought by many. He was employed by Harold Brock Chevrolet until the business closed. It was during his employment he met many people and became well known and made many friends. In 1982 he started working for the State of New Mexico Motor Pool Complex and retired in 2010. Paul was a person that gave friends forever impression of kindness and compassion, he never forgot you and they never forgot him. Paul enjoyed the outdoors and most of all fishing and camping with his sons.
Paul was preceded death in by his loving son’s Patrick Sr. and Peter James Chavez, his parents Hipolito and Griselda Chavez, In-laws Alberto and Rosita DeHerrera, Maternal grandparents Francisco and Maria Galvez, Paternal grandparents Benino and Raquel Chavez. Donald & Tessie, Amadeo, Amelia Galvez, Joe E & Dan Martinez, Sister In-laws Joann DeAguero, Marie DeHerrera, brother in-laws Romolo DeHerrera, Raymond Wheeler Sr. and Genero Rodriguez Sr.
Nephews Filbert DeAguero, Anthony Martinez, Manuel Rocky Wheeler, Anthony and Thomas Rodriquez, Joey DeHerrera, Juan David Sanchez, Leroy Jaramillo. Nieces Marylou & Sally Rodriguez, Stephanie & Bonnie Padilla, Anjelika Baca.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Linda A Chavez, grandchildren Miranda Chavez (Kris Ancheta) Patrick Chavez Jr. (Michael) Raelynn Chavez (Thomas Martinez.)
Great grandchildren Evander & Xiomara Ancheta, Aubree Martinez. Sister Paula & Brother Eric Chavez, aunts Gilia and Cristela Martinez, Guadalupe Galvez, Chris Chavez, Charolet and Tilde Martinez, brothers-in-law David DeHerrera, Pete (Roberta) DeHerrera, Arsenio DeAguero, sister in-laws Irene (Eddie) Vigil, Lydia Wheeler, Cordie (Adonaldo) Herrera, June Galvan, Rosita DeHerrera
Mothers of his grandchildren Rachel Vargas, Sheri Trujillo and many other loving relatives on the Chavez & DeHerrera side.
Services are pending and will be announced as soon as they become available.
