Ann Le Blanc
January 6, 2023
Paul and I were friends. We met at the NBFHC when we both started volunteering on the same shift. The first words he said to me were: "Hey Le Blanc, I like your name!" I shot back: "Hey Doucette, I like yours too!" We sat in the big red chairs in the Center and started a conversation that never stopped. He taught me so much about the History of Fishing and I taught him what I knew about Acadian culture and the way of life. In our conversations I learned his love for his family was the paramount motive in his life and after that, keeping his promise to his father about telling the history of Fishing and neck-and-neck was his love of sports. Later I helped him with his research because I had some Military background that gave me a superior understanding of Coast Guard processes and procedures. He was an exacting man that wanted to get every fact straight in his writing. We emailed back and forth over the years but after he was diagnosed what had been discussions of the Coast Guard Archives, shipwrecks, and old Maritime charts turned to his incredibly brave and hopeful approach to his remission. His legacy is his example to all that knew him and we will miss him dearly! With heartfelt condolences to his family. He did keep his promises!
All my sympathy and prayers to his family,
Ann Le Blanc

Paul was more than a co-worker. Paul was a friend. I really appreciate every thing was and did for Texwipe. Paul was a great man that always had a story to tell to help explain a situation. He will be missed. I am praying for the family as I know he was a treasure to them.
