In Loving Memory of Paul Joseph Feyen
Paul Joseph Feyen, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend to so many, passed away peacefully in his Jacksonville Beach home on the evening of February 10, 2025.
Paul was born in Denver, Colorado, to parents Joseph and Marie. His father was a salesman for International Harvester, and the family traveled throughout the western US, landing in Oakland during his formative years.
Paul enrolled in St. Patrick’s seminary in Menlo Park, CA when he was 14 and was eventually ordained a diocesan priest. In 1969, he met his true love, Kathy Tobin, a nun, and shortly thereafter they decided to leave the clergy to get married and start a family. They began in Minnesota as Paul started a new career in textbook publishing. Paul was a legendary salesman at Prentice-Hall and built a legacy and powerful reputation that remained with him for the rest of his life.
Paul and Kathy felt the call to go back to the Bay Area, where they had grown up. They chose Danville, CA, spending 30 years there before moving to be closer to their daughter Kristin and her family in the greater Jacksonville area, where (son) Kevin’s family eventually settled.
With genuine warmth, humor, curiosity, and a love of people, Paul made friends everywhere he went. Through his life experiences, he also found a calling to help others find sobriety. In that mission, and through 35 years of sobriety, Paul touched the lives of so many.
Paul is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Kristin Glunt; son-in-law, Dan Glunt; son, Kevin Feyen; daughter-in-law, Jeannine Feyen; and his four grandchildren, Leo, Grace, Fiona, and Violet. He is also survived by his sister Ann Walsh and preceded in death by his sister Jean Feyen.
In the coming weeks, the family will announce a celebration of Paul’s life. Instead of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Al Pablo Inc, a non-profit with dedicated facilities for 12-step meetings. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-al-pablo-inc-in-memory-of-paul-feyen
