Paul Gallagher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Keefe Funeral Home - Cambridge on Jan. 5, 2026.
GALLAGHER, Paul William, Sr., of Stoneham, formerly of North Cambridge, passed away peacefully at his home on January 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Somerville to the late Henry "Hank" and Helen Gallagher. Beloved husband of 36 years to Lisa Gallagher of Stoneham. Clamma's love of selfless service, live music, country, good times, and, above all, his family will be carried on by his large and loving family. He was the: Adored father of his children Jean Goodwin and her husband John of North Reading, MA; Paul Gallagher Jr. and his wife Alison of Winchester, MA; Alyssa Iredale and her husband John of Stoneham, MA; and John Gallagher and his wife Rachel of Beverly, MA. Beloved "Papa" to his grandchildren Luke Goodwin, Zachary Goodwin, Graham Gallagher, and Mallory Gallagher. Dear brother of the late Henry "Chip" Gallagher of Chugiak, AK; Gregory Gallagher of Exeter, NH; Debra Gallagher of Pflugerville, TX; James "Jay" Gallagher of Methuen, MA; and Mark Gallagher of Topsfield, MA. Cherished Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, and valued friend to many.

Paul lived a life full of gratitude, positivity, and resilience. Fittingly, he asked that he be celebrated, rather than mourned. Please join Paul's family in celebrating his life. Visiting hours will be held from St. John's Church, 2254 Mass Ave in North Cambridge on Thursday, January 8th 2026 from 4-8PM. Please enter through the main doors on Mass Ave. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church on Friday, January 9th 2026 at 11AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, Paul's family asks that you honor his memory through a donation to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (https://www.cholangiocarcinoma.org/donate/). When donating, please dedicate your gift by choosing In Memory of "Paul 'Clamma' Gallagher".

As Paul said and lived, Carpe Diem!

Uncle Paul is love, and everyone who knows him that I've ever met and known have felt him radiate, shine, and completely engulf us with his smile, joy, warmth, compassion, and the purest vigor for life, plus sharing it with everyone (I actually have to wonder if he ever had a bad day - not that I ever saw, in 35+ years). He truly is a beacon for us to follow how to live, and to celebrate in the love he has and lives on in us, while looking forward to being together again one day. Love and miss you uncle, you are wonderful, a saint among saints, a man above men, an amazing husband, father, dad, grandpa, uncle, brother (having spent time with you and yours, what a ride:) and more - and I thank you for all the love you have brought into our lives, knowing you are now enjoying the fruits of your labors forever while we all wait to join you. - Ed

This world seems emptier without Paul but I can assure you, he gave more than he got and left behind so much love, laughter, good will and warmth and kindness. His memory leaves me with hope of one day seeing him again in a better place. Love ya Paul.
