We were blessed to have known and loved Paul Edwin Grupe Jr from March 29, 1954 until his death on April 14, 2026. Born in Rahway New Jersey, he was the son of Paul Edwin Grupe Sr and Hilda Wilhelmina Trembly. After attending Rahway Public Schools and graduating third in his class, he attended Penn State University to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering in 1977. He relocated to Georgia in 1978 to take his first job and remained in and around the Atlanta area for the rest of his life. He retired from Bennett & Pless in 2019 after working approximately 38 years in the engineering field.
Paul will be remembered as a man who any wife, mother, father, sister, son or daughter would be proud of. Perfect days for Paul Grupe would include any one of the following: watching a Penn State Football Game, sitting on the beach on Long Beach Island, traveling anywhere with his wife, watching his grandchildren pursue their loves, bonding with his two Goldendoodles, talking softball with his nieces, and last but certainly not least, a good everything bagel with pork roll, egg and cheese.
He is survived by his wife, Maranda, his children Paul (wife, Kayla, grandchildren Payton and Nathan) Lindsay Mullins (husband Ben), stepchildren James and Kenneth Sewell, Bayleigh and Emory Stalker, Esmerelda Lumsden, his sister Diane Butler and many loving cousins and nieces.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday May 30th, from 10am-11am at The Chapel at True North at Northstar Church in Kennesaw with a Celebration of Life to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, which Paul graciously supported for years. Donations can be submitted through give.choa.org.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
