Paul Hackett Obituary
He was born October 30, 1944, at Alton, Illinois, to Edwin Kennedy and Beatrice Leila Sooy Hackett. He married Miss Dorothy Hollingshad on June 17, 1966, at Alton, Illinois. Mr. Hackett moved to Harrison from Mountain Home about seven years ago and had lived in Mountain Home for 24 years prior to that. He was of the Southern Baptist faith. Paul loved Gospel music and faithfully served in different churches through the years as a soloist and music director. He also had a love for classic cars and took great pride in them. In his working years, he was a blending supervisor at P.V. Flour Mill in Alton for 15 years, and later he managed Sterling Paint in Mountain Home for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Jack Edwin and Minard David Hackett.
Survivors include his wife of 59.5 years, Dorothy Hackett of Harrison; two daughters, Kathleen Green (Shane) of Mountain Home and Suzanne Poynter of Harrison; five grandchildren, Brittany Kelley and Haley Patrick (Andrew), all of Harrison, Kimberly Poynter of Springfield, Missouri, Dylan Green of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Emily Young (Jesse) of Gassville; three great-grandchildren, Boone Kelley, Axle Patrick, and Layla Young; a sister-in-law, Idella Hackett of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three nephews, Lynn Hackett of Tulsa, Loren Hackett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Jason Cauley of Goddard, Kansas; and many cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Holt Memorial Chapel with Pastor Heath Kirkpatrick officiating. Burial will be in Maple Leaf Cemetery under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Shane and Dylan Green, Andrew Patrick, Jesse Young, Blake Seals, and Bill Jennings.
