Paul Whitney Harvey, 64, of Hot Springs, died Monday, September 7, 2009 in a local hospital. Born March 7, 1945 in Hot Springs to Paul W. and Edna Corine James Harvey, he was a member of Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a bass player (which was his passion) and also sang in a quartet with his wife and two very special friends. He was a U.S. Army veteran, worked at Weyerhaeuser for 30 years, enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle with his friends and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents; his daughter, Jeannette Mix; two brothers, Larry E. Harvey and Gary R. Harvey. Survivors include his wife, Pamela J. Harvey; son, Robert D. Harvey; step-daughter, JuLee Harvey Dodd; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne “Boggie� and Carol Harvey, all of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Paula and John Matthews of Bryant, Brad Lee Harvey, Kelton Harvey, Austyn Harvey and Whitney Harvey, all of Hot Springs; Lane Dodd and Luke Dodd, both of Royal; Robert Mahara and Richard Mahara, both of Tennessee; Alix Middleton of Mountain Pine; great-grandchildren, Halee Matthews, Jayden Matthews, Jonathan Mathews and Adaleigh Harvey; step-father, Tom Wilson; father-in-law, Dewel Hatmaker; uncle, Earl Harvey; first wife, Gabriele Harvey. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009 at Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Thompson and Reverend Steve Ellison officiating. Pallbearers will be Buddy Leamons, Tommy Poteet, Tommy Fletcher, Lon Harvey, Bobby Webb and Joseph Burroughs. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Buffington and the High Noon Hunting Club, Brother Clarence Hill and choir and musicians at Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church and Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church family. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gross Funeral Home. Guest register at www.grossfunerlhome.com
