Paul William Hays Sr., born November 19, 1971, in Baton Rouge, LA, passed away at his home in St. Amant on September 17, 2025 at the age of 53. Paul proudly served his community as a cook and was a local business owner for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching NASCAR, cooking for family and friends, and music.
Paul is survived by his children, Paul "PJ" Hays Jr., Colten Hays, Chase Hays; mother, Sherry Hays; 6 grandchildren, Ryleigh Hays, Aubree Melancon, Beaux Hays, Asher Melancon, Ryder Melancon, Oaklynn Hays; daughters-in-law, Sarah Melancon and Cherie' "Cherry" Dufrene; aunts, Gloria Templet (Larry), Carol Hopkins (Herbert), Krista Zimmerle; close friends, Bubba Brignac, Dwayne Kirkes, Lonnie Diez, Jason Walker, Crystal And Wesley DeYoung, Wesley (Lil Wes) DeYoung, Ashleigh Campbell; his beloved dogs, Killa, And Pappy; as well as numerous cousins and extended family.
Paul is preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Hays Lambert; grandfather, Morris Hays; uncle, Jeff Zimmerle
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Faithful United Methodist Church in St. Amant, LA from 11am until service time at 1pm. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Paul's family asks that you consider a donation to defray the cost of funeral expenses. Contributions of any amount are appreciated. Please continue keeping Paul William Hays Sr. 's family in your thoughts throughout this challenging time.
