Paul James "Catfish" Henderson, age 84, of Hector, departed this world and entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 3, 1936, in Hamburg, to Orin Marvin and Mamie Stith Henderson.
He served in the United States Army and returned to work on his family's farm. Paul was the owner of Henderson Specialties, Inc. for over 42 years. He loved working on his farm and going to work every day.
He was a member of Darby Lane Baptist Church and of the Free Masons. He was also a huge supporter of the Hector Wildcat Nation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Bryan; and two grandsons, Joshua Henderson and Brandon Mabry.
He is survived by his wife, Shelbie Henderson; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Martha Henderson; step-son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Karen Dees; two daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Kelly Mabry and Cindy Mathews; sister, Gay Horton; 13 loving grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Darby Lane Baptist Church in Russellville, with Rev. Joe Yates officiating, and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
