Paul Marshall Hilton, born on August 9, 1946, lived a life grounded in love, humor, family, and quiet strength. He was born to the late Walter and Maudie Hilton, who instilled in him the values of work, devotion and care that Paul carried throughout his life.
On April 29, 1967, Paul married the love of his life, Kathie Nivens, beginning a partnership that would span decades and form the heart of a growing family.
Paul was a devoted brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is lovingly survived by his children: Keith Hilton and his wife Darlene of Decatur; Teresa Hilton and her wife Stacy of Decatur. His legacy continues through his grandchildren—Cristie Meador and her husband Justin, Sheralyn Mullins and her husband Nathan, Rachel Dougherty and her husband Paul, Dusty Hilton, Jamie Hilton, and Brian Guthrie and his wife Courtney—and through his 11 cherished great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy. Paul is also survived by his brother Robert Hilton and his niece Gail Czekaj and her husband Harold.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathie, his sons, Troy and Dwight, and seven brothers and sisters, whom he always carried in his heart.
Paul also held dear the friendships that enriched his life, especially his close friends Rick and Mary Little, Tom Collier, Jim and Janet Schooler, and Joe Watson, along with extended family members and a host of friends who will remember his kindness, loyalty, and steady presence.
Those who knew Paul knew a man who loved deeply and lived sincerely. His life was measured not in grand gestures, but in everyday acts of care, commitment, and love—shown faithfully to his family and all those fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered for his gentle heart, his devotion to those he loved, and the enduring legacy of the family he leaves behind.
