1962 - 2025

Paul V. Hoard, 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 9, 2025. Paul was born to Dennis M. and Patricia M. Stewart Hoard on February 1, 1962 in Columbus, Indiana.

Paul's lifelong endeavor, Paul's Columbus Auto Salvage, which he owned and operated for over 30 years, was a testament to his hard-working spirit and entrepreneurial drive. He took immense pride in his craft, and his dedication to his work was apparent to all who knew him. Before embarking on his business venture, Paul devoted over a decade of his life to working on the railroad as a committed contractor.

Beyond the responsibilities of his trade, Paul embraced the thrills of life with fervor. His love for driving in demolition derbies and the high-octane world of mini stock car races demonstrated his zest for life and brought excitement to those around him. Paul also fostered a love for travel, particularly enjoying family trips to the sunny beaches of Florida, where laughter and love filled the ocean air.

Paul is survived by his children, Catricia Hoard, Candiace Leonard, Michennis Hoard, Randall Leonard, Kaitlyn (Jaymiah) Campbell and Kloe Hoard; his mother Patricia Hoard; grandchildren, Amber Leonard, Elizabeth Downs, Rachel Downs, Kaylin Garland, Tegan Galbreath, Zachary Galbreath, Zander Galbreath, Kinzlee Campbell, Liam Leonard and Ellie Leonard; and siblings, Ralph E. Hoard, Mitchell Hoard and Nancy (Wes) Eastwood.

Paul was preceded in death by his late father Dennis M. Hoard and his brother Stephen Hoard.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; Reverend Roy Hendershot will officiate. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 12 p.m. until service time Saturday.

Following Paul's wishes cremation will take place.
