I am so deeply saddened to hear of Paul's passing. He was one of my very best friends for decades. His kindness to me and my family over the years was unforgettable.

Paul's fondness for plants, Utah and the great outdoors was inspirational. I always enjoyed hearing of his travel and work adventures. We shared many good times in Utah and Ohio.

I can only hope that he finds peace in heaven, perhaps he rests at a campsite near a roaring river; with Rock & Roll and Dixieland music! I will sorely miss his friendship and will cherish the memories and plants he has given me over the years.

Our son Kelly (who passed away 13 years ago) was a close friend of Paul's. I think they lived together for a time in Salt Lake City. Paul bought my daughter Betsy's 1962 blue comet which he drove to Ohio when he left Utah. Paul was a great friend to Kelly.

PT and the Huling family were our neighbors growing up in Plainfield. I have very fond memories of those times. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his Mom, Tom, Sarah and Martha and their families.

I met Paul during our cllege days at U.S.U. in Logan. We kept in touch over the years with emails visits and camping trips. What a fine man and great friend he was!
He is sorely missed

I worked Paul at Holden many years ago. He was a great teacher and his passion for plants was infectious. He was kind, giving and helpful to me in so many ways early in my career. I am honored to have been his friend and heartbroken that he has passed.

Paul and I worked together for many years at The Holden Arboretum. His love and passion for plants was has made a lasting impression on me, he always took time to share his most recent 'find'. His love of the West, Good music, perennial plants and friends was obvious to all that got to know him. He is already missed.

We met PT at Sarah's house on Thanksgiving. He was a quiet, unassuming man. He was very nice to talk to and be around. Sarah and her children have been close friends of ours for some time. I know PT will be sorely missed at the gatherings of their family. He was loved and respected by his family and friends.

Paul, you are such a kind soul. If others had just a fraction of your kindness, this world would be a much better place. You left way too soon. My only consolation is knowing that you are no longer suffering. I'll think of you every time I walk through the woods, see a beautiful flower, or hear the Grateful Dead...fare you well Paul. You're going home by the waterside.

Dearest Hulings-

I will so miss my cousin PT....He played hide and go seek with us at Grammy's, took Matt and I on a long road trip to Cleveland, and was such a deep thinker! Love to you all. Goodbye Pete, you will be remembered.

I'm comforted to know that you will return to the American West. Anyone who knew you knew that's where you kept part of your soul. I'm grateful for all the years we worked together in the Main Display Garden at Holden and all that I learned from you. May your future journey take you from the pristine alpine through the endless prairie and into the desert solitaire with maybe a meeting of Edward Abbey.

Dear 'Sister Jean'
During my years at Crandall Ford, your husband was absolutely one of my favorite customers. I miss doing business with you and Paul. I never knew your son, but I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I pray that God will bring you strength and comfort in the days and weeks ahead. God Bless.
