Paul Joseph Iapalucci, age 98, of Rockaway Twp., New Jersey, died on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Hospice for Hope in Scotch Plains Twp., New Jersey. He was born in Richmond Hill, Queens, New York to the late Joseph and Carmela Iapalucci.
Paul served in the Army during WWII with the 29th Infantry Division, and was awarded a Purple Heart. Prior to retirement, he was employed as an accountant with Howmet Corp. in Rockaway, NJ.
He was a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rockaway. Paul was also a member of the Knights of Columbus of Dover, Council 514 and the VFW. In his earlier years, he enjoyed camping with his family in New England. Paul lived an exemplary life to the fullest and his greatest accomplishment was his family, which he loved and cherished dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia; three children, Teresa Iapalucci, Lisa Iapalucci, and Joseph Iapalucci; six grandchildren: Andrew Runyen, Nicholas Palenchar, Daniel Palenchar, Marissa Campano, Brianna Rademacher, and Joseph Daniel Iapalucci; and six great-grandchildren: Connor Rademacher, Morgaine Rose Runyen, Kyra Lyn Stolpa, Antonio Campano, Colton Rademacher, and Sophia Leigh Campano.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00PM at the Whitham-Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave, Rockaway. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 31, 2023, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Interment will follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Rockaway.
