Paul Gaige Janssen, 69, of Hazle Township, PA, died Wednesday, January 7, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl (Haberle) Janssen, his wife of 46 years.

Born July 25, 1956 in Quantico, VA, he was a son of the late Jean (Sacks) and Paul Gaige Janssen, Sr.

Mr. Janssen proudly served as the City Manager of a number of municipalities. He ran the Center for Excellence in Local Government at Albright College for 13 years, retiring in November 2025.

Paul was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale. He was an avid Philly sports fan and golfer, and he loved spending time with his family and friends in St. Petersburg, FL. Above all else, "Big Pop" will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Sara Pugliese (Michael) of Plymouth Meeting, Kathleen Kasabian (Spiro) of Somerville, NJ, Phillip Janssen (Jaime) of Plymouth Meeting, and Benjamin Janssen (Kate) of Wyndmoor; nine grandchildren, Jay, Drew, Abby, Niko, Luka, Leo, Reid, Sloane, and Izzy; his sister, Thalia Hagerup of Virginia; and brother, David Janssen of Hershey.

Relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Paul's memory to Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Research, 504 RXR Plaza, Uniondale, NY 11556.
