Paul LaTour Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home - Warwick on Mar. 30, 2026.
Paul R. LaTour, 83, of Warwick, died peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Mary (McAloon) LaTour. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Lionel L. and Marguerite (DesJarlais) LaTour.

Paul was a highly respected Ford Mechanic in his career, and throughout his life restoring and collecting classic cars was his passion. Any family member or friend just had to call with a car question and Paul was there to help.

He enjoyed listening to music from the 1950s and sharing his love of the era with those around him. Just a few months ago, he was dancing with his family at the Beach Boys Concert.

The heart of his life was his family. He cherished his wife of 60 years and was very close to each of his four children. He was their steady anchor until his final days. He cherished his grandchildren beyond measure, from rocking each new baby to mischievously teaching them their first "bad" word, always with a twinkle in his eye as they ran off to tell Grandma what Grampa just said.

Besides his loving and devoted wife, he will be deeply missed by his children, Paul R. LaTour, Jr (Aimee) of Warwick, MaryBeth Roberti of Warwick, Valerie D'Amore (Paul) of Norton, MA and Meghan Oreste (Roderick) of Boston, MA. He was the beloved grandfather of Caitlin, Brittany, Michael, William, Anthony, Dean, Molly and James. He also leaves his sister, Marguerite LaTour of Auburn, MA.

He was predeceased by his brother, Lionel L. LaTour, Jr. and son-in-law, John Roberti.

A visitation for Paul will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 8:00AM - 9:15AM in the URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, 381 School St., North Kingstown, RI. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Paul's memory to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd. Ste. 3004, Warwick, RI 02886.
