I loved the movies of Paul Mazursky, who remains a great source of creative inspiration for me.

betsy, much love at this difficult time. Paul and his talent and his interests and donations and spirit made all of us better, expecially those of us in the human rigths community. paul was one of us with a steady eye and a big heart. i will miss my lunches with him ...they were so much fun. paul gave more than he asked for....Paul enriched the world of film. I know you and fyour family will miss him. i join you in that with my prayers. sincerely, jack healey

There wuz something 'bout his movies that made you want to see them. maybe 'twas the subject matter or the actors whom he used. he would frequent the fruit stands on weekends in LosAngeles.I was glad to have heard him speak in the BayArea.

to the mazurskys, paul was an icon to those who survived the 60's...i used to run into his wife betsy at the la free clinic job co-op around 1968..betsy was helping hippies find jobs....many years later, i was vending food at the corner of 5th avenue and 14th avenue, betsy came up to me and sail hello....

If only for "Harry and Tonto," thank you, Mr. Mazursky. I can't imagine a world that didn't have that luminous film gracing it. Condolences to your family, friends, colleagues, and all your admirers.
