Paul McGee Obituary

Paul Gerald McGee, of Natick, MA, formerly of Westwood, MA and The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025.

Son of the late Raymond and Marguerite (Gerlache) McGee. Beloved husband of the late Pauline Madeleine (Crepeau) McGee for 50 years. Loving father of four sons and their wives: Timothy and Diane (Salisbury) of Mansfield, MA; Martin and Karen (Anderson) of Ashland, MA; Steven and Michelle (Gattozzi) of Framingham, MA; and Neil and Suzanne (Crandall) of Mansfield, MA; and his four grandchildren: Rachel, Tyler, Bradford, and Madeleine; and his two great-grandchildren: Everett and Oliver. Predeceased by his sister, Jacqueline, and brothers, Ronald and James. Survived by sisters-in-law, Mary McGee and Susan Morris McGee of Florida and many loving nieces and nephews.

Paul graduated from La Salle Academy in Providence, RI, and attended Providence College before serving in the U.S. Air Force at Chicksands RAF Station in Bedfordshire, England, during the Korean War Era. Honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, Paul met and married Pauline in Woonsocket, RI. After starting a family, they moved to Westwood where they raised their four sons and cherished their many lifelong friends.

Paul was a career accountant with the John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston for over 35 years, eventually becoming a respected Senior Accountant with the firm. Paul and Pauline retired to The Villages, FL in 2001 where they enjoyed many years together.

Paul served as President of the (former) Westwood Music Parents Association, organized parades, festivals, marching band events, the annual Band Banquet, and supported quality music education programs in Westwood Public Schools.

He loved traveling with Pauline and family, especially to “the beach”—Cape Cod—in the summers. He greatly enjoyed tending his vegetable garden, reading the newspaper, doing crossword puzzles, trying his luck at slot machines, and watching sporting events, especially the Red Sox. Paul delighted in his proud memories from his service days as a radio traffic analyst in the USAF and loved attending several Chicksands reunions over the years, reminiscing with his service-time “chums” as a U.S. Air Force Veteran.

Paul will be fondly remembered for his reserved yet fun-loving and playful personality which brought laughter and joy to all. He always greeted others with a warm smile and a hearty handshake or hug. His sons and daughters-in-law revered his encouragement, persistence, humor and fatherly love.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation in the Holden, Dunn and Lawler Funeral Home, 55 High Rock St., Westwood on December 4, 2025, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Following the Visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Denis Church, 157 Washington St., Westwood at 11 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will take place at New Westwood Cemetery.
