Paul Mullan Obituary

Paul Bernard "Buddy" Mullan, a life-long radio broadcaster of Oakland, Maryland, passed away on September 15th, 2025 at the age of 66.

Paul is survived by his wife, Donna Sheally Mullan; his children, Adam Lewis and wife Courtney Lewis, Paul Anthony Mullan, Alison Mullan and husband Austin Cosner; his seven grandchildren, Joshua Scanlan, Matthew Lewis, Jedi Lewis, Brody Lewis, Oliver Cosner, Amelia Cosner, and Sterling Cosner; his siblings Doris Brady, Carol Krimm and husband Alan Krimm, Patrick Mullan and wife Kimberly Mullan; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Jean Mullan.

Paul was born February 9th, 1959 in Cumberland Maryland where he would run the streets of Fairview Avenue with his siblings and friends. He graduated from Bishop Walsh high school and continued his education at Frostburg State University with his bachelors degree in political science, but his heart always belonged to the radio industry.

Paul was a radio broadcaster and personality for the entirety of his life. He worked for a handful of stations starting with the student station WFWM at Frostburg State and continuing with WTBO, WKGO, WCMD, WXIE, WJSE, WMSG, WKHJ, 92.3 The Train, and his most recent 14 years of radio was spent with WCBC. Through radio, Paul found friendships and a connection to his Allegany and Garrett county communities and dedicated his life to giving back to the places he called home through countless nonprofit organizations, charities, and other fundraisers.

Paul married the love of his life, Donna, on October 19th, 1991, and officially became a father to his first son, Adam Matthew Lewis. Their family grew to welcome Paul Anthony Mullan and Alison Nichole Mullan, and fatherhood quickly became Paul's most important and cherished part of his life.

Outside of radio, Paul was a devoted and present father and grandfather. He was a man of many talents and hobbies and found joy in everything from music, to politics, to history and sports. Paul was a spiritual man who always held his relationship with God near and dear to his heart. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Oakland, MD. Paul was also a past president and member of the Oakland - Mountain Lake Park Lions Club.

Paul will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and anyone who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
