Obituary published on Legacy.com by Silverton Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Toms River from Apr. 17 to Apr. 29, 2025.
Paul Anthony Perillo aka Paulie P passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, at the age of 71 surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 22, 1953, in Newark, New Jersey, Paul's life was a testament to the love and joy he brought to those around him.
The son of the late Margie and Cosmo Perillo, Paul was a devoted family man who cherished his roots and the close-knit bond he shared with his loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Jean, commonly referred to as "his bride", and their two adoring daughters, Danielle and Gianna, who were the light of his life. Paul's legacy also continues through his sons-in-law, Bobby and Rob, and his treasured grandchildren, Marissa, Luca, and another grandson on the way, who brought him immeasurable happiness.
Paul is also survived by his sister Arlene, his brother-in-law, Mike, mother-in-law Lucille, brother-in-law, John, and sister-in-law Silvana. He also leaves behind his Aunt MaryAnn, nephews, cousins, and so many friends whom he adored dearly.
His Italian-American heritage was a cornerstone of his identity, and he embraced it with passion and pride, instilling those values and traditions in his family. He was a proud member of the Seaside Heights Italian American Club.
A man of many talents, Paul's love for music was a constant throughout his life. He played the piano and the accordion with a skill that could only be matched by the joy he felt while playing. His voice was a staple in the St. Lucy's choir, where he sang with a warmth and devotion that touched the hearts of all who heard him.
Paul's zest for life was evident in the simple pleasures he enjoyed, such as breaking bread with his buddies at Johnny G's or the bagel shop, enjoying swimming in his pool, and DJing. His passing comes during Holy Week, a time of deep spiritual meaning to him. He held this sacred week close to his heart and faithfully attended masses and sang in the choir at St. Lucy's. Paul's devotion also extended to the annual feast of St. Gerard every October. Most of all, Paul loved spending time with his family and being a Pepa to his Littles aka his Smoosh and his Bruiser.
Throughout his life, Paul's presence was a source of stability, humor, and kindness. He approached every day with a genuine smile and an open heart, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement. His unwavering support and love for his family and friends were the pillars upon which many happy memories were built.
As we bid farewell to Paul, we reflect on a life well-lived, full of love, music, and the joy of being surrounded by family. His spirit will live on in the stories told and the traditions he passed down.
Visitation is from 3 PM to 8PM, Monday April 21st at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home in Toms River. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Lucy's Church in Newark at 11AM on Tuesday, April 22nd.
