Paul Ritchey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Leslie-Miller Funeral Home on Feb. 9, 2026.
Paul L. Ritchey, 85, of Imler, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on February 5, 2026, surrounded by his wife and daughter after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 5, 1941, in Queen, son of the late Kenneth and Mary (Grasser) Ritchey. He married Carolyn J. Albright, who passed away on November 6, 1986 after 10 ten years of marriage. He later married Joyce Diehl, whom he just celebrated 36 years of marriage with on February 3.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Alicia Dawn Ritchey, first wife Carolyn, brothers Kenneth, Fred, and Tom Ritchey, nephews David and Tom Ritchey, in-laws Gerald and William Albright, Delores DeVore, and Cathy Dicken.

Paul is survived by his wife Joyce, daughter Paula Cherish, brother Roy Ritchey (Cindy) and sister Rheda Sprigg (Dale), sisters-in-law Betsy, Vivian, and Liz Ritchey, Wilma Corbin (Mark), Virginia Colvin (Mick), Mona Lee Elder (Larry) and Connie Albright and brother-in-law Elwood Diehl (Kay) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a wonderful husband and father who cherished his family and the time they got to spend together. He will be forever loved and missed.

Paul was a 1959 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and retired from Penn Dot as an operator after more than 30 years of service. He attended the Claysburg Bible Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening, puzzles and hunting mushrooms.

A celebration of Paul's life will be held at later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hillman Cancer Center, Altoona or the Claysburg Bible Church.
