Paul Ernest Rosas, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025, in
Ogden, Utah. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Paul was funny, kind and fun-loving.
Paul was never called the "Paul-inator" despite having four wives and three children. He loved being around family, friends and had a special bond with each of his kids and grandkids. There were a number of friends that called him grandpa even though they weren't related (they probably wanted to get in the will).
He loved to golf and golfed in a league for several years. At some point in his golfing career, he started picking up and using range balls. Luckily there is no video evidence of him using them (don't tell the owners of Round Valley).
Paul loved life and always had fun wherever he went and whatever he did. Besides golf, he loved fishing and driving his truck off the road. Ask him about the Flaming Gorge trip, oh wait ask his son or grandsons about that adventure. He loved when his adult grandsons and great-grandsons came over for home projects and Sunday beers.
Paul scrolled through Facebook and the internet looking for advertisements, and personally kept Amazon in business buying gadgets and gizmos a plenty. His favorite phrases were "I sure appreciate ya!" and "Love you more!", and he loved being funny at every party, always being the entertainer.
During times when Paul had to be (somewhat) serious, he worked for 33 years as a computer programmer with the Department of Defense at Presidio in San Francisco, California, Hill Air Force Base, Utah and DDO in Utah.
After retiring from federal service, Paul drove the Handi-Trans bus in Davis County. It was always an adventure for those who were obligated to ride with him based on Paul's driving (in)abilities.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Midge Eddy; (favorite) daughter Debbie Rosas Gordon (Craig); son Les John Rosas (Diana Martinez); stepson Stephen Deeds; sister Cris Neumann and and brother Robert Rosas (Carol); as well as six grandkids, 17 great-grandkids, and seven great-great grandkids. He is preceded in death by wife Anita Rosas, son Curtis Rosas, and brothers Lorenzo and Johnny Rosas.
A graveside service will be held Friday, December 12 at 2:00 PM, at Leavitt's Mortuary and Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street,
Ogden, UT 84403, with a celebration of life to immediately follow.
Paul will be remembered by his sense of humor, the smile on his face and was loved by all who knew him.
We want to thank Dr. Eric Johnson and the Oncology team at McKay-Dee hospital for their care.
