Paul William Schieffer, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024. He was born November 7, 1933 in Milwaukee, WI to Martin and Verna Schieffer.
Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He apprenticed at the Falk Corporation in Milwaukee where he worked for 36 years as a design engineer.
Paul loved his family and especially his wife, Ruth. When the two of them met, he commented that she was the "the most awesome girl" he had ever known. Paul had a dry sense of humor and had a lifelong passion for classical music, history and was an avid stamp collector. He found great joy in reading, assembling jigsaw puzzles, watching golf and tinkering with his model trains. Paul also was a Brewers and Packers fan.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ruth; Julianne, Mary (Pete deceased), Bernadette (Terry deceased), John (deceased), Clare (Brian) and Gregg (Tiffany). He was the proud Grandpa to Anthony, Tyler, Ben, Jessica, Noah and "Papa Paul" to Hannah & Ella.
A Catholic funeral service and burial for family and friends will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI on Friday, April 5th. Please meet at Holy Cross main office at 7301 W. Nash Street for chapel visitation starting at 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., service and burial at 10:30 a.m. and a luncheon will follow.
Paul will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. He was a gentle soul who "warmed the heart" of all who met him.
In his memory, donations can be sent to St. Mark Catholic Parish, 602 Military Road, Rothschild, WI 54474 or St. Joseph Indian School, PO Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326.
