After retiring, Paul and Connie traveled around the country for two years in their RV before settling in Florida. They returned to Joliet in 2008 to be nearer to their family. In addition to taking his family on incredible adventures around the country and abroad, his passions also included photography, flying his airplanes and his faith. In 1988 Paul was ordained a Lay Deacon for the Joliet Diocese. He served at St. John the Baptist and Holy Family Parishes in Joliet, and Blessed Sacrament Parish in Clermont, FL.
In addition to his wife Connie, Paul is survived by his children, Paul (Linda) Schneider Jr. of Plainfield IL, Jean (Matt) Collins of Madison WI, Janet (William) Buss of Lizton IN and Michael (Carol) Schneider of Wilmington IL; twelve grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, with three more arriving this fall.
