Paul Joseph Sedlak, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on September 13, 1942, in
Johnson City, NY, Paul's life was marked by his loving nature, adventurous spirit, and kindness that touched everyone he met.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Pearl Sedlak. His legacy of love continues through his family, including his devoted wife of nearly 56 years, Connie Sedlak. He was a proud father to his daughters, Sharla (Joseph) Allison and Michelle (Jason) Hayes. His brother, Robert (Martha) Sedlak, will fondly remember the bond they shared. Paul's joy was multiplied with the birth of each grandchild, Kristen (Kyle) Cianci, Thomas Allison, Morgan Hayes, Austin Hayes, and he was blessed to see the family grow with the arrival of two great-grandchildren, Hadley and Harper Cianci. His extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins will miss his warm presence at family gatherings.
Paul was a man of service and an active member of his community. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Reserves, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to others. His dedication was further reflected in his involvement with the Wake Forest Lions Club, and the Knights of Columbus. A devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Paul lived his faith daily and served others with a generous heart.
Paul's career was marked by hard work and dedication, but it was his passions outside of work that truly defined him. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace and joy in fly fishing, a hobby that allowed him to connect with nature and share precious moments with his grandchildren. His love for animals was unmistakable, especially for his dogs, who were his loyal companions. Paul's artistic side shone through in his wood carvings, each piece a testament to his patience and attention to detail.
As we say goodbye to Paul Joseph Sedlak, we celebrate a life well-lived. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and his teachings will continue to inspire us. Paul's journey on earth may have ended, but his spirit remains with us, guiding us with the same love and kindness he so freely gave. He will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will endure through the lives he touched.
