Paul Jonathon Seehaver, 68, passed into eternal life on Dec. 14, 2023 in
Petoskey, MI. Born Jan. 22, 1955, loving son of Lee and Carmella Seehaver. Beloved husband of 44 years to Debra Wagner Seehaver (married at St. Hugo Catholic Church). Dearest father of Sarah (Brian) Eagen, Jason (Laura) Seehaver, and adoring grandfather of Eve Marie Eagen and Stella Rose Seehaver. Brother of David (Jeanne) Seehaver, sister Rose (the late John) Steele and Scott Montfort; uncle of nephew Alex (Lindsey) Seehaver and niece Oana Sturza, and many cherished family members. With an effervescent personality, Paul was always the life of the party. He met Debra over a "cup of coffee". Graduating from Clawson High School, he pursued various adventures, such as, attending Oklahoma Farrier College, working at Consolidated Railway in Detroit, and co-founding Jabil Circuit Company in Madison Heights. Paul graduated with a finance degree from the University of South Florida. Always a hard worker, Paul traveled extensively for business as well as missionary work in LaVictoria, Dominican Republic. There, he labored as a pintor (painter), and contributed to the building of a much-needed medical center. He had a passion for gardening when he had the time and loved working outdoors (except during the hot Florida summers). His involvement and commitment to the Catholic Church and school began in Florida at Nativity Catholic School, where he served on the school board and finance committee. The family and friendships that developed over more than 30 years in the Dominican Republic have been a true blessing. This includes our godson Saturnino (David) Figueroa, an important part of Paul's life. Returning to Michigan, the Seehaver's chaired the South Oakland Homeless Shelter for many years over the Christmas holiday with their children and "extended" family. Faith, family and friends were always at the heart of Paul's passion, along with telling jokes. Paul also served as a board member at Notre Dame Prep Catholic High School. In addition to being hands-on in the local communities and church organizations, Paul was a past business owner of DNP Marketing and Indian River Marina. Along with taking care of their horses, Paul and Debra enjoyed extensive traveling and felt blessed to be able to do so. Traveling to the Holy Land and Africa made his commitment to helping others his God-given mission. Paul was a life-time member of the Equestrian Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepluchre of Jerusalem and was honored to be Medal Master for the North Central Lieutenancy of the United States. A true suffering servant, Paul has been living with Younger Onset Alzheimer's Disease for the past ten years without complaint and always with a positive influence wherever he went. Paul was a founding member of the National Council of Dementia Minds which started in Michigan – just another way Paul has been able to serve even on his journey to his eternal home. Thank you to all our friends and family who have supported us over the years. May God bless you always and keep you in his tender loving care. The Seehaver Family. Contributions may be made to the following charities Paul supported National Council of Dementia Minds, Notre Dame Preparatory School, Partners with LaVictoria (Dominican Republic), and Terra Sancta (Holy Land support).
