Paul Richard Shannon, age 76 of Ooltewah, TN passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at his residence. He worked at Woodbridge Chair Company for 19 years. He was an avid hunter & fisherman that loved the mountains but motorcycles were his passion. Paul was one of a kind who never met a stranger. He loved his garden fishing and especially his chickens. His grandchildren was his pride and joy.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lula Shannon; brothers, Johnny and Jack Shannon; sister, Anna Lou Parris; son in law, Bobby Stewart.
Survived by wife of 49 years, Opal Shannon; daughter, Janel Stewart; grandchildren, Bobby Stewart (Kaitlin), Brandon Stewart and Brittney Stewart; great – grandchildren, Jaxson Stewart, Skylar Stewart; brother, Billy Shannon (Annette); sister, Martha Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Poole – Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation Services from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral will be Friday, January 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at the funeral home with Reverend Ken Purdie officiating and interment to follow at Grasshopper Cemetery with Bobby Stewart, Nathan McCrae, Brandon Stewart, Jimmy Shannon, Wesley Shannon and Hoyt Womac serving as pallbearers.
Poole – Serenity Funeral Home & Cremation Services are in charge of the arrangements.
