Obituary of Paul Slinger
Paul Slinger, 52, of Oologah, Oklahoma, passed away at home on October 24th, 2023. Paul was born on September 24th, 1971, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Hendrik Slinger and Mijntje (Monique) Slinger-Stalenberg.
Paul was a good student and graduated from high school despite his travels in the truancy bus with his friends. After high school, he studied Economics and Information Technology for a short time in Amsterdam before starting his own business. In 1999, he moved to London, England and worked as a freelance IT worker and later headed his own agency there. After returning to The Netherlands, he worked for the Dutch government upgrading computers at Dutch embassies in Europe and North America.
Following his move to the United States he had temporary contracts with various businesses including upgrading computers in State Farm Insurance agent offices in northeastern Oklahoma and AEP/PSO. He worked at WPX energy before getting his job at QuikTrip corporation in 2016.
As a teen Paul was an accomplished martial artist in Pencak Silat. During his most successful year his only loss was to the future world champion. Paul also enjoyed playing baseball and softball, skiing, singing, reading, writing, playing video games, and being a leader of youth bible study at Southwood.
Paul is survived by his wife Sharon (Bartel) Slinger whom he married on May 25th, 2002, his father Hendrik Slinger of Sint Nicolaasga, The Netherlands, and Harry, Paul's dog.

Brother-in-law Nathan Bartel and wife Emily and nieces and nephews Robert, Allison, Grant, and Whitney of Jenks, Oklahoma.
Sister-in-law Maralie Bartel of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Uncle Johan and wife Ann of Huizen, The Netherlands.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Mijntje (Monique) Slinger On October 30th, 2022.
Services will be held at Southwood Bible Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma and led by Jack Kemper and Eric Bush on Saturday November 4th, 2023, at 1:00 in the afternoon. Green Hill Funeral Home of Owasso, Oklahoma is assisting with arrangements.
