Colwich, Kansas - Former U.S. Army Pvt. First Class Paul F. Spexarth, age 90, of Colwich, KS passed away on July 5, 2022. Paul was born February 23, 1932 in Colwich, KS and was the 8th of 10 children. Paul was the son of Ben J. and Kate (Doffing) Spexarth. He married Joann E. (Becker) Spexarth on May 25, 1955. Together with Joann, they farmed and raised six children. He enjoyed family gatherings, card playing, square dancing, garage sales, and traveling. He was also a licensed Master Falconer in the Kansas Hawking Club. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joann, parents, siblings Cecilia "Ceal" Eck, Conrad "Coonie" Spexarth, Mary Ann Betzen, Sr. Agnes Marie Spexarth, Raymond Spexarth, Fr. James Spexarth, Catherine Vestering and grandson Eric Spexarth. He is survived by children, Greg (Rue) of Colwich, Fr. Dan of Wichita, Ed of Hutchinson, Linda (Terry) Wallace of Wichita, Janet (John) Collard of Longview, Texas, Joe (Carolyn) of Colwich. Paul is also survived by his brothers, Ralph Spexarth of Wichita and Leo Spexarth of Colwich; sister-in-law, Ann Pauly; brother-in-law, Joe Vestering. Paul is a grandfather of 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church of Wichita or Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Colwich. Rosary will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at 7:00 P.M. and Funeral Mass to be celebrated Monday, July 11, 2022 at 10:30 A.M., both at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Wichita, KS.
