Paul Angelo Squeri

Paul entered into eternal rest on 10/27/22 at the age of 89. Paul was born in New York City and was the child of Paul and Lucy Squeri (Ferrone). He grew up in Astoria, Queens and eventually attended Long Island City High School where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Jean. Following high school Paul served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 where he was a Corporal. Part of his service included time at West Point where he was a drill instructor. After finishing his military service, Paul and Jean were married on 8/28/1955 and were devoted to each other for over 66 years. They had their first of three boys, Ron, in 1956. The family then relocated to East Northport, NY (Long Island) where they had their second child, Greg, in 1964 and their third son, Alan, in 1965. In 2002 they moved to Waretown, New Jersey to be closer to their two beloved grandchildren Cassandra and Samantha. For the last five years they lived in New Providence, NJ with their son Alan and his wife Doreen. Paul's wife Jean passed away in January of 2022. Paul is survived by his sons Ron, Greg, and Alan, their spouses Michael, Sharon, and Doreen along with his grandchildren Cassandra and Samantha.
Paul was an extremely hard worker and worked as an apprentice in the Brooklyn Navy Yard while earning his degree in Building and Construction from Pratt Institute. Paul spent most of his working life in the building products industry and worked in sales for several lumber yards and eventually spent 30 years with Georgia Pacific in sales and marketing jobs. For many years Paul worked two jobs to support his family. At the end of his career Paul worked for the IRS for several years in a seasonal position. Paul was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing the sport with his three sons whenever possible. Driving his grandchildren around in his golf cart also brought him great joy.
Paul loved his sons and his grandchildren deeply and attended as many sporting events and activities as possible. He was always their #1 fan, and they knew it and loved him for it. When it came to his grandchildren no grandfather could have been more supportive, caring, or involved.
