the son of Harry and Mary (Madtson) Stoops. He married Barbara Ann Lindbloom on October 26, 1958, in Canton, IL. She preceded him in death on December 12, 2003.

He retired from Caterpillar in 1992 and loved attending tractor shows and taking trips to visit each of his children and grandchildren. He had been a Fulton County Farm Bureau member for at least 50 years.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, from 1:00-3:00pm at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL, with a memorial service immediately following. Burial will follow at the
Ipava Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a meal with the family at the American Legion in Ipava after the services. Memorials may be made to the National Farm Toy Museum in Dyersville, Iowa, and the Ipava Fire and Rescue Squad.
