Paul H. Taylor

Paul H. Taylor was born on March 31, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey to the late James and Gloria Taylor Sr. He was the seventh of nine children. He was married to the late Sylvia Ward Taylor and born to this union was a daughter, Latisha. Paul made his transition to eternal rest on January 14, 2024, at the age of 65.
Paul attended school in Montclair and Orange New Jersey. He was known as, "The Local Handyman." If you needed electrical work, carpentry, or even pluming, Paul was your man! Whatever his hands could find to do he did with excellence. Paul could fix just about anything with his hands. He was a true example of GIFTED HANDS!
Anyone who came to visit Paul was greeted and welcomed to the sound of music. His album collection had everything from Jazz to Motown's greatest hits. In his youth, you would often catch him as a weekend DJ. His love of music and dancing was contagious. Music wasn't the only hobby that Paul found cathartic as he also had a soft spot for growing plants. He had an amazing green thumb, and it gave him great joy to gift plants to others.
Paul was known for his generosity and was always looking for ways to bless others. If he had any blessing, big or small, he was willing to share. He also developed a love for the outdoors at an early age, a trait passed down from his father who led all of his brothers in Boy Scouts. Even in his later years, Paul was always active, and you could find him doing anything from swimming to bike riding.
Paul leaves behind many people to cherish his memories including: his daughter Latisha Taylor; his partner Jeanette (Cookie) Ingram; his siblings James Taylor Jr. (Loretta), Robert Taylor (Sharon), Rodney Taylor, John Taylor (Darlene), David Taylor (Darlene), Deborah Taylor, Gail Brown, Marcella Dawson; a sister- cousin Tracy Williams; Aunt Mary Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
