Paul Arnold "Bud" Thacker

Paul "Bud" Arnold Thacker, 97, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away Wednesday January 14, 2026. Born in Springdale, Pennsylvania, he was raised in the Whitwell area. Paul was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in W.W.II, was owner/operator of Town and Country Barber Shop and was a member of the Jasper Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and raising vegetables for family and friends. Often times, you would find him mowing the grass or tinkering with his tractor or just tinkering in his building.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Rose Kilgore Thacker; brother, George William Thacker and great grandson, Trey Boggs.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Sue Thacker; two daughters, Darlene Rosemarie (Gary) Thacker Mitchell and Vickie Lynn Thacker Barnhart; son, Eddie (Deanna) Thacker; two grandchildren, Angela and Shannon; five great grandchildren, Taylor, Payton, Lake, and Ryli; and three great-great grandchildren, Kensley, Dallas and Cooper;

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday January 20, 2026 , in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Steve Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
