Paul Thompson, age 68 of Lafayette, TN, passed away Friday afternoon, July 4, 2025 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Paul is in the care of Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN.
Funeral Services for Paul Thompson will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 2025, at 1:00 pm from the chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Pastor Ron Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in the Macon County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin on Monday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday from 8:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.
Family requests memorials be made to the Paul Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund. You may make these memorials by calling or coming by the funeral home.
He is preceded in death by: parents, James & Velma (Dallas) Thompson; father-in-law, Doyle Gaines; brother-in-law, Ronnie Reid.
Survivors include: wife, Dawn Gaines Thompson; sons, Marcus Thompson & wife, Kailyn, Ryan Thompson & wife, Savannah; grandsons, Tate & Riggs Thompson; sisters, Dorthy Shoulders & husband Jerry, Betty Claiborne & husband, Glenn; mother-in-law, Shirley Gaines; brother-in-law, David Gaines & wife, Kathy; sisters-in-law, Dale Reid, Diana Hernandez & husband, David; host of nieces & nephews.
