Paul David "Papa Smurf" Watts

Paul David Watts, lovingly known by family and friends as "Papa Smurf," passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, at the age of 77 in Hastings, Florida.
Born in Zanesville, Ohio, on October 1, 1948, Paul lived a life full of humor, adventure, and heart.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Spung Watts; his parents, Donna and Benny Watts; his sister, Mary Jane Brown; and his son-in-law, Eric Weaver.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Watts; children Holly Weaver, Paul Watts II, and Cynthia Watts-Skinner (Frank Skinner); six grandchildren-Tiffany, Joseph, Victoria, Evangelina, Alexander, and Paul; and two great-grandchildren, Richard and Sophia. He also leaves behind his brother, Jerome Watts, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Paul began his professional journey as a journeyman electrician and went on to spend more than 30 years with Seminole Electric Cooperative, where his expertise and leadership culminated in his role as Senior Maintenance Planner. His work ethic, problem-solving skill, and willingness to mentor others earned him the respect of all who worked alongside him.
Outside of work, Paul embraced life with enthusiasm. He loved traveling, skiing, white-water rafting, photography, and spending time at the beach. A passionate football fan and gifted cook, he found joy in gathering family and friends for good food, laughter, and one of his well-timed jokes.
His warmth, humor, and kindness will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by everyone who knew him.
Funeral service will be at Craig Funeral Home at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Pellicer Creek Cemetery.
