Paul Galen Widder, 90, of Massillon, passed away peacefully, early Wednesday morning, May 21, 2025. Born in Navarre, May 12, 1935, the only child of the late Galen and Helen (Malloy) Widder, Paul graduated from the former Navarre High School with the Class of 1953. Prior to his retirement, he earned his living as a long-distance truck driver, delivering safely and on time for several area carriers for more than forty years.
A man of quiet faith, Paul was a devoted husband, and a supportive dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa who loved his family very much. And while he valued his privacy and peace and quiet, he was also a loyal friend and a good neighbor. He always enjoyed time spent with family and friends at the Sons (and Daughters) of Herman – just around the block from his home. He was believed to be the oldest current living member at "the Sons," and remembered fondly as, "an outstanding horseshoe player, but a poor gambler."
Predeceased by his mom and dad, his step-mother, Grace Widder, and his wife, Loretta (House) Widder; Paul is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Doug) McBeth, of Dalton, and son, Scott (Lorri) Widder, of Orrville. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Ryan McBeth, Nick Widder, Tony Widder, and Alexis McBeth; great-grandchildren, Camden and Kinsley McBeth, and Josie Widder; his dear friend and companion, Linda Medley; special neighbors, Ben and Ellen; and his faithful fur baby, "Chrissy."
No formal services are scheduled. The family will mark Paul's passing with a private chapel service and burial. They have also suggested memorial contributions made to the Humane Society of Stark County (starkhumane.org/donate). Arrangements have been entrusted to Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon where your memories and condolences are always welcome and may be added here to his on-line guestbook.

Your dad and his sweet Chrissy were one of my favorite patients when I worked with Aultman Home Health Care. May he rest in peace.

Scott, Tammy & Family,
I am so sorry for your loss--you are all in my thoughts & prayers. I have some very fond memories of my Uncle Paul & Aunt Loretta that I will forever cherish. I am so glad that we were able to make it to the house to celebrate his 90th birthday. I can tell he really enjoyed being surrounded by his family & friends. RIP Uncle Paul.

Scott , Tammy & family
I´m so sorry for your loss. I used to see your dad at the Sons club occasionally and it was always so nice to catch up and talk about family and old times. I know he had some rough years with his health and just can´t believe that he´s gone. I didn´t have a picture to post, but he was a good man and will be missed - Michelle Kress
