Paul Monroe Wilson, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Reidlawn Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at Paul’s residence.
Paul was born in Rockingham County to the late Norman “Doc” Wilson and Florence Paschal Wilson. He was the hardest working man and best dad his sons could have ever asked for. He retired from Cone Mills (Edna Plant) in Reidsville, during his years at Cone Mills he worked for the Reidsville Police Department as a patrol officer. After retiring, he owned and operated a garage for many years. He loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed restoring old cars and tractors.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Margaret Juanita Moorefield Wilson; brothers, Ellison Wilson, Cecil Wilson, Lawrence Wilson, Glenn Wilson, Roger “Bud” Wilson and Lonnie Wilson; sisters, Dora Ann Wilson, Maude Denny, and Sylvia Echols; stepdaughter, Darlene Williamson; step-grandson, Dean Penell.
He is survived by his sons, Ricky Paul Wilson (Rhonda), Darrell Duane Wilson (Melissa); grandchildren, Brianna Wilson Crowder (Ryan); great grandchildren, Lydia and Nolan Crowder; sister, Ruby Echols as well as loving group of extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Rockingham County EMS and the Reidsville Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Ancora Compassionate Care at PO BOX 281 Wentworth, NC 27375.
