Beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Paula Ann Berry Brown passed away in Knoxville on November 22, 2025. She is survived by her sisters Maurine Petersen and Carolyn Hunter, son and daughter-in-law Stuart Brown and Janet Bagby of London, UK, son and daughter-in-law Scott and Alyse Brown of Norman, Oklahoma, and daughter and son-in-law Kim and Michael McKee of Knoxville, Tennessee as well as by 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Paula was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Rhea Berry, her husband of 69 years Dennis Brown, granddaughter Katie Brown, and great-granddaughter Paige Martin.

Paula was born on March 23, 1932 in Oklahoma City. She and Dennis moved to Knoxville in 2014 after living for more than 50 years in Farmington, Connecticut, where they reared their three children. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, she taught high school English in the Oklahoma City School system until the United States Air Force sent Dennis to Boston in 1954, and they settled in New England. She worked as an accountant for Brown, Donald, and Donald Planning Services and in other fields including paralegal work and banking. The list of volunteer organizations benefiting from her dedication to service is too long to fully include.

In life Paula blessed her family and friends with faith, musical gifts, wisdom, and a home that was a magnet for family, friends and friends of family; the loving welcome she provided has given scores of people happy memories of her and their home. She was fun, and she is already missed by many.

She and Dennis were lifelong members of the Church of Christ. The family would appreciate any donations in her memory to the JustLead ministry through the Laurel Church of Christ, which was Paula and Dennis' church home in Knoxville. www.laurelcc.org/iustlead (3457 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919).

There will be a celebration of their lives at Laurel Church of Christ in Knoxville on December 2: visitation from 10:00am to 11:30am and a service will follow at 11:30am. Later, Paula's and Dennis' remains will be buried in Purcell, Oklahoma, and a memorial service in Oklahoma will be planned for that occasion.

Blessed are they that die in the Lord from henceforth. Aye, says the spirit, they shall have rest from their labors, and their works follow them. Revelation 14:13.
